Seavey Builders is a family owned business. Dan is very proud that his family is involved in the business. Dan, along with his son Ryan, are on the job site everyday. Brenda, his wife, is behind the scenes handling the marketing and the all important financial end and job tracking in the business. Dan and Brenda's son, David, also works for the family business in the summers when he is home from college. "I love the fact I get to work with my family and they are so involved," Dan says. "We put a real strong emphasis on family because it is what we base many of the decisions of everyday life on." Seavey Builders has consistently employed the same subcontractors for many years. "We rarely make changes in the people we choose to work with," says Dan. "We believe we are known for the company that we keep. I have worked with many of my subs for 20 years, we know how each other work, we know how we bid our jobs and we all have the same belief in customer service." says Dan. Being on the jobsite everyday Dan is able to personally coordinate and supervise each home building project from start to finish with significant regard to the highest standards and quality control. Dan and Ryan are in continuous contact with both the tradesman as well as the customer, some on a daily basis, some by scheduled weekly appointments and sometimes customers just periodically touch base when decisions need to be made. "Every customer is different and we go the extra mile to make the building experience easy and personal for every client."

Dan started his career in 1983 working as an apprentice to a master carpenter who taught him the secrets of the trade as he became a skilled carpenter. Now with over 20 years Master Carpenter experience, Dan can cost effectively construct a custom home or design to build remodeling project, whatever fits his customer's needs. Seavey Builders has worked on a wide range of projects. From a 1,500 square foot rambler to a spacious 14,000 square foot, three story mansion in Rochester.

When choosing whether to custom build or remodel Dan suggests looking at some criteria. Do you like your lot? Do you like your location? What is the condition of the current home? If you have children, do you want to stay in the same schools? Sometimes it makes sense to turn your current home into your dream home and sometimes it makes sense to start with a new custom home.
